Ez Accessibility Widget Alternative for Shopify: Three Plans, One Widget, No Audit

Ez Accessibility Widget has three plans, and they list the exact same seven features. The only thing that changes as you pay more is how many visitors the widget will serve. That tells you what the product is: a well-made widget, priced by traffic. It doesn't tell you anything about whether your store has accessibility problems, because nothing in it looks. We build a competing app, so read this as an interested party's view.
Ez Accessibility Widget (from EazeSoft, a London developer; the reviews also call it "AccessEaze") launched in October 2024 and has done well fast: 69 reviews at 5.0 stars, Built for Shopify, and a lot of praise for its support team. That's more than three times our 20 reviews, and we've been on the App Store since 2018. So this isn't a "they're bad, we're good" post. It's about what kind of tool you're buying.
What each Ez plan includes
Here's the pricing as it reads on the listing today (October 13, 2026). Search "Ez Accessibility Widget" on the App Store to check it yourself. We don't link to a competitor's install page.
| Plan | Price | Monthly visitors | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 5,000 | 30+ widget tools, profiles, auto-translation, issue reporting, statement, support |
| Growing | $4.99 ($55/year) | Up to 100,000 | Same list |
| Established | $9.99 ($90/year) | Unlimited | Same list |
A store with around 170 visitors a day passes 5,000 a month, so most stores that are actually selling will end up on Growing. That's a fair price for what you get.
What the widget does well
Credit where it's due. The pre-built profiles (Low Vision, Dyslexia, ADHD, Seizure Safety) are a good idea. A shopper with a seizure condition shouldn't have to find four separate toggles to stop the animations. One tap is better design.
In-widget issue reporting is the other one we like. A shopper can tell you that something didn't work, and you get an email. That's a real feedback channel from the people the widget is meant for, and most stores never hear from them at all.
And the free plan is generous. Profiles, auto-translation and customization are all included at $0. Ours isn't like that (more on this below).
What no Ez plan does
None of the three plans scans your store. There's no audit, no list of violations, no report. The widget sits on top of your theme and lets shoppers change how the page looks and sounds. Bigger text, a dyslexia font, contrast modes, text-to-speech. It can't add a label to a form field your theme left unlabeled, or fix a "Buy" button whose contrast fails, or give alt text to the 400 product images that don't have any. Those problems are in the code, and they stay there.
This matters because of where the legal risk comes from. In August 2026, 432 ADA web accessibility lawsuits were filed in the US, and 134 of those defendants already had an accessibility widget on their site. Roughly one in three. The widgets didn't stop the suits, because the testers were checking the code underneath.
The Ez listing title says the widget "helps with" WCAG, EAA and ADA compliance. That's careful wording, and it's accurate: it helps shoppers. It doesn't audit or fix the store. Just don't install it thinking the job is done.
Where we're different
Our app is a widget too, plus an audit. The audit runs axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine many testing tools use, in a headless browser against any page you pick. You get the list of violations, a score (passes divided by passes plus violations), your last 50 runs so you can see the trend, and a PDF you can hand to whoever edits your theme.
That score is a measurement, not a certificate. Nobody issues ADA certification for websites, and we don't pretend to.
Here's our pricing, from the same day:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Core widget, default icon, no customization |
| Basic | $4.99 ($49.99/year) | Full widget customization, 5 icon styles, preset styles |
| Advanced | $9.99 ($99.99/year) | Everything above, 30+ widget languages, the audit and reports, analytics dashboard |
No visitor cap on any plan.
Where Ez beats us, honestly
The free plan. Theirs includes profiles, auto-translation and customization. Ours is the core widget with the default icon, and you can't customize it. If you only want a free widget and don't run much traffic, Ez's free plan gives you more.
Profiles and issue reporting. We don't have one-tap disability profiles, and shoppers can't report a problem from inside our widget. Both are good features.
Reviews. 69 against our 20. Both at 5.0.
Admin languages. Ez lists 16 admin languages. Our admin is in English. (Our widget speaks 30+ languages on Advanced.)
What we'd put on our side: the audit, which is the part that tells you what to fix. No visitor cap at any price. And an analytics dashboard showing which widget tools your shoppers actually use.
What we'd tell you to do first, with or without any app
Run an audit on your homepage, one product page and your cart. Read the violation list, not the score. Most Shopify stores find the same short list: missing alt text, low-contrast buttons, form fields with no label, empty links and a skipped heading level. We looked at how common each one is on Shopify stores in the WebAIM data. Most of it you can fix in the theme editor.
Then pick a widget, any widget. If you like Ez's profiles and issue reporting, it's a good choice, and you can run your audit somewhere else. If you'd rather have the widget and the audit in one place, that's what we built.
Frequently asked questions
Does Ez Accessibility Widget scan my store for WCAG issues? Not according to its listing. All three plans list the same widget features, and none mentions a scan, audit or report.
Does any accessibility widget make my Shopify store ADA compliant? No. A widget gives shoppers display and audio controls. Your risk goes down when the theme itself is fixed and tested. The lawsuit numbers above show that widgets alone don't stop suits.
Which Ez plan do I need? It depends on traffic only, since the features are identical. Under 5,000 monthly visitors, Free. Up to 100,000, Growing at $4.99. Above that, Established at $9.99.
Can I run Ez and an audit tool at the same time? Yes. A widget and an audit do different jobs. Just don't run two widgets at once, because two floating buttons on the same page confuse shoppers.
