Enorm Ask a Question Alternative for Shopify: What $3.99 a Month Buys You in 2026

👉 Want to test product Q&A before paying anything? Install AC ‑ Questions & Answers on the Shopify App Store →
Search the Shopify App Store for "ask a question" and one of the first organic results is Enorm Ask a question. It does one thing: a button on the product page, an email to you when someone uses it, and your answer published back under the product. For $3.99 a month, that's a reasonable deal. The question is whether one plan and one job still fit how you sell in 2026.
We build AC ‑ Questions & Answers, so this is one vendor writing about another. Every price and date below was read off the two public App Store listings on 15 September 2026. Plans change, so check them again before you decide.
What Enorm gets right
Simple is a feature. Enorm's listing describes a small, focused app. Customers can ask about as many products as they like. You get an email for each question. You can reply by email or on the question board, and the answer shows up on the product page where the question was asked. The button's style can be changed to match your theme. There's one plan at $3.99 a month with a 7-day free trial. There are no tiers to compare and no allowance to watch.
It's also been around a long time. The listing shows a launch date of 12 September 2017, and it's rated 4.8 from 15 reviews. If you get a handful of questions a week and just want them in your inbox, that's all you need, and there's no reason to switch.
Where the one-plan model pinches
You pay from day one. Enorm has a free trial, not a free plan. That matters because you don't know yet whether your shoppers will use a question box at all. Some catalogs get plenty of questions. Others get almost none because the product page already answers everything. Our free plan covers 25 Q&A a month with no end date, so you can find out before you pay.
The price floor is higher, not lower. Our Basic plan is $1.99 a month and covers unlimited Q&A. Our Advanced plan costs the same $3.99 as Enorm's only plan, and adds 2,000 question imports, Mailchimp, custom reply-email templates and multi-language support. AI-drafted answers are on Professional at $9.99. If you never need any of that, Basic is the cheapest paid option in this comparison.
Moderation isn't on the listing. An open question box on a public page gets spam sooner or later. Our Basic plan adds "verify before publishing" and an option to take questions only from logged-in customers. Enorm's listing doesn't mention either. That doesn't prove it lacks them, so ask their support before you install. How quickly they answer is useful to know, too.
Check the review dates. Enorm's newest review is dated 10 January 2022. A quiet review page doesn't mean an app is broken, since plenty of stable apps stop collecting reviews. But it's a reason to test the app on your current theme during the trial rather than assume. Our newest review is from August 2026, and the app carries the Built for Shopify badge.
The test worth doing on any ask-a-question app
Before you install anything in this category, open your theme editor and check how the app shows up. A modern app adds its button as an app block that you place and remove yourself, with nothing left in your theme code when you uninstall. Shopify explains how these work in its theme app extensions docs. Ours installs as an app block. Whatever you pick, add it to a duplicate theme first and look at a product page on your phone before you publish.
Which one should you install
Install Enorm if you want one flat price, answers by email, and no settings to think about. At $3.99 it's honest pricing for what it does.
Install ours if you want to try Q&A for free first, pay $1.99 once the questions arrive, or need moderation, imports or a second language as the store grows. If Enorm already works for you, keep it. Just try the phone test above on your current theme.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Enorm Ask a question cost? One plan at $3.99 a month with a 7-day free trial, as listed on 15 September 2026. There's no free plan.
Is there a free ask-a-question app for Shopify? AC ‑ Questions & Answers has a free plan with 25 Q&A a month, published straight to your storefront, with email updates. Paid plans start at $1.99 a month for unlimited Q&A.
Can I bring my existing questions with me? Our Basic plan imports up to 200 questions, Advanced up to 2,000, and Professional has unlimited import and export. Get your questions out of the old app before you uninstall it. That's the step people skip.
Do answered questions help SEO? Answers published on the product page give search engines real text that matches how shoppers actually phrase things. That's often wording your product description doesn't use. Publishing them on the page does more for SEO than answering by email alone.
Which languages does it support? Enorm's listing shows English. Ours shows English for the admin, and storefront multi-language support is part of the $3.99 Advanced plan.
