How do I uninstall the AC - Reviews & Ratings app?

You can uninstall the app from your Shopify admin at any time. Export your reviews first — once the app is uninstalled, it can no longer export them, and your reviews can be permanently deleted from 48 hours later.

1. Export your reviews:​

  1. Open the AC - Reviews & Ratings app in your Shopify admin.
  2. In the app menu, click Import & Export Reviews.
  3. In the Export reviews section, use the dropdown to choose JSON, CSV or Excel (.xlsx).
  4. Click Export reviews and keep the downloaded file.

The file has each review's product, title, text, rating, your reply, the reviewer's name and email, and the date. Photos your customers uploaded are listed by file name only, not as links you can open.

The file does not include whether a review was published, the Verified buyer badge, Helpful votes or translations. If you import it again later, the reviews come back unpublished, without badges or votes, and reviews of products you have since deleted can't be imported.

2. Remove the reviews page (only if the app created one):​

If you used Create Page in Setup Widgets & Blocks, the app added a page to your store, by default titled Reviews at /pages/reviews. Uninstalling does not remove it. To remove it, go to Online Store > Pages in Shopify, open the page, check it's the one the app created, and delete it. If you're not sure, leave it — it does no harm.

3. Uninstall the app:​

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Next to AC - Reviews & Ratings, click the ⋯ (menu) icon, then click Uninstall.
  3. Optionally choose a Reason for uninstalling, then click Uninstall.

What happens after you uninstall:​

  • Review widgets: The widgets you added from the app are app blocks: Reviews & Ratings (called Product Reviews in the app), Average Rating, Card Carousel, All Reviews, and the Reviews Widget app embed (called Review Badge in the app). Shopify removes an app's blocks from your themes automatically when the app is uninstalled.
  • Star ratings shown by your theme: The app saves each product's average rating and review count in Shopify's standard product rating fields, and these stay after you uninstall. If your theme shows star ratings itself (for example, a "Show product rating" setting), turn that setting off, or the stars stay visible without any reviews.
  • Billing: Uninstalling cancels the app's future charges. Shopify may still bill the current billing cycle. Refunds are handled by us, not Shopify, so if you'd like to ask about one, contact us before you uninstall.
  • Your reviews: Your reviews are not deleted the moment you uninstall. Shopify asks apps to erase a store's data 48 hours after the app is uninstalled, and from then on your reviews can be permanently deleted. Don't count on reinstalling to get them back — keep your exported file.
  • Reinstalling: If you install the app again, your previous settings are restored and you'll be asked to choose a plan again. You'll also need to add the review widgets to your theme again. Before importing anything, check All Reviews & AI Summaries — if your reviews are already there, don't import the file. Otherwise, import it under Import & Export Reviews with Append to existing reviews selected (the replace option deletes all current reviews straight away), then publish the reviews again. On the Free plan you can publish up to 25 reviews a month.
